Steak Bite Ingredients

  • Steak: Any type of steak will work, but I suggest sirloin or ribeye.
  • Oil and Butter: Use extra virgin olive oil and unsalted butter for the best flavor.
  • Spices: The only dried spices you need is salt and pepper.
  • Herbs: Use fresh rosemary and garlic that you chop right before you cook.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: This will give the steak and extra punch of savory flavors.

How to Make Garlic Butter Steak Bites Recipe

Here are the basic instructions to make rosemary garlic butter steak bites. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of this blog post with full ingredients and instructions to make it.

Step one is the cut steak bites with salt and pepper.
STEP 1: Start heating a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cut the steak, pat them dry with paper towels. Season evenly with the salt and pepper.
Step two is adding the steak into the pan with the hot oil.
STEP 2: Pour the oil into the hot pan. Add the steak bites into the hot oil in a single layer, but don’t crowd the pan and cook in batches if needed.
Step three is to flip over the steak pieces.
STEP 3: Sear, then flip each piece over and cook. Remove the steak from the pan.
Step four melt the butter and add in the rosemary.
STEP 4: Drop the heat down. Once the pan has cooled, add in the butter and chopped rosemary. Let cook.
Step five is to saute the garlic.
STEP 5: Add the garlic and cook.
Step six is to add the steak back in to the rosemary garlic butter.
STEP 6: Add the garlic and cook. Stir in the worcestershire sauce. Return the steak bites and stir into the butter mixture.

Cooking Tips and Tricks

  • Pat the steak dry before searing. Removing extra moisture helps the steak get that perfect golden-brown crust instead of steaming in the pan.
  • Don’t overcrowd the skillet. Give each piece of steak enough room to sear properly. Work in batches if needed for that restaurant-quality sear.
  • Use fresh rosemary and real butter. Fresh herbs and quality butter make all the difference, giving your garlic butter steak bites that rich, aromatic flavor that tastes anything but ordinary.

Recipe Variations

  • Spicy Garlic Butter Steak Bites: Add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot sauce to the butter mixture for a fiery twist that spice lovers will adore.
  • Creamy Mushroom Steak Bites: Stir in sautéed mushrooms and a splash of heavy cream to the skillet for a rich, savory sauce that’s perfect over mashed potatoes or pasta.
  • Lemon Herb Steak Bites: Swap rosemary for a mix of parsley and thyme, then finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a lighter, zesty version of this simple skillet steak recipe.
