This Banana Pineapple Smoothie is Incredibly Nutritious and Easy to Make

My kids LOVE green smoothies! They actually beg me to make them. They really love the flavor, but their two favorite parts about these smoothies are the foam and the green mustaches.

Those green mustaches are THE BEST!!

When I see them, I know that I’ve given my kids an incredibly nutritious meal full of vitamins and minerals.

These green smoothies are so gorgeous, so bright and vibrant. Even though they are packed with lots of healthy spinach, you would never even know it was in there. The fruit completed masks the spinach flavor. This mango pineapple smoothie is made without spinach and is full of tropical flavor.

It’s super easy to get kids to drink their fruits and vegetables when they have smoothies! Or make this acai bowl for breakfast.

Sometimes, I just randomly throw whatever fruit I have on hand into the blender. Most of the time the smoothies turns out pretty great (sometimes not as great). After making this recipe though, I made sure to write it down because we liked it so much.

One thing I really love about smoothies is that you can make them and pour into a large mason jar. Screw on a lid and bring this snack with you. Or bring along this pineapple coconut juice.

Green Smoothies are Super Healthy, Full of Vitamins and Minerals

It’s easy to make a banana pineapple smoothie. Just grab 3 or 4 handfuls (3 or 4 cups) of spinach and put in the blender. Next add in the banana, apples, pineapple, and liquids. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Green Smoothie Benefits

Green Smoothies are a delicious, simple way to add more raw fruits and veggies into your diet. Naturally low in calories, they can help you lose weight, are great for your health, and can boost your energy levels. This smoothie is full of fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, and calcium. Also, the leafy greens provide a great source of B vitamins.

Smoothie Tips

  • Wash all your produce before using.
  • Make sure to place ingredients in your blender from the softest to the hardest.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water at a time till you reach your desired consistency. You can add less or more depending on the thickness you want for your smoothie. We like ours a little thinner for easier drinkability.
  • A high-speed blender works best.
  • Make the night before and pour the green smoothie into mason jars with lids for an easy breakfast for the next morning or a to-go snack.

Smoothie Variations

  • Use half kale and half spinach.
  • Use fresh pineapple instead of frozen. Then just add in some ice cubes.
  • Add in some of the zest from the lime for tangy flavor.
  • Give your smoothie an even creamier texture by adding in 1/4 – 1/2 of an avocado.

Storage Instructions for Banana Pineapple Smoothie

  • How to Refrigerate Banana Pineapple Smoothie: Store smoothie in a glass jar or BPA-free airtight plastic container in the refrigerator. It is best consumed within 24 hours but will last about 48 hours in the fridge. Just shake up when ready to enjoy.
