Sweet & Easy Apple Snickers Salad
If you love caramel apples but could do without the sticky mess, this simple Apple Snickers Salad is calling your name. You get tart, crunchy apples, chocolate-covered candy bar bites, and a caramel drizzle, all in a scoopable treat you can eat with a spoon. It’s a great way to use up the Snickers from trick-or-treating.
Vanilla pudding and homemade whipped cream come together to form a fluffy base that coats every little piece of apple and Snickers. Those chewy pockets of caramel and crunchy peanuts make each bite a little different, so you’ll want to dig around for your perfect spoonful.
There’s no oven to turn on and no complicated decorating to tackle. Just chop, mix, whip, and fold. Save a few apple chunks and Snickers pieces for the top, then add that caramel drizzle for a finishing touch that’s as pretty as it is tempting.
This sweet apple treat would fit right in at a fall potluck or on the Thanksgiving dessert table alongside your favorite pies (like a butterfinger pie). It’s also a fun way to finish a casual dinner of burgers or BBQ chicken, so there’s no need to wait for sweater weather to make a bowl!

Apple Snickers Salad Ingredients
- Apples: Use tart and slightly sweet Granny Smith apples
- Snickers: I added 4 full-size Snickers candy bars.
- Lemon Juice: A bit of fresh lemon juice brightens the flavors in the salad (and keeps the apples from turning yellow).
- Pudding: Instant vanilla pudding gives it the creamy base.
- Milk: For the best flavor, use whole milk.
- Heavy Whipping Cream: This is what you’ll use to make homemade whipped cream.
- Powdered Sugar: The powdered sugar sweetens the whipped cream while still keeping it deliciously fluffy.
- Vanilla Extract: Essential for adding deeper flavors.
- Caramel Sauce: This is optional, but it adds color and a sweet little bit of extra flavor.

How to Make Apple Snickers Salad Recipe
Here are the basic instructions to make an apple Snickers salad. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of this blog post with full ingredients and instructions to make it.

Cooking Tips and Tricks
- I recommend eating this salad the day it is made, the leftovers don’t do well in the fridge.
- Give the apples a quick toss. Stir the chopped apples with the lemon juice before adding the Snickers so the juice gets distributed throughout the bowl.
- Keep the folding gentle. Add the pudding mixture to the whipped cream in thirds, folding gently until combined rather than stirring vigorously. You want to keep that fluffy texture!
Recipe Variations
- If you would like the salad to have more longevity, remove the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanillla and replace it with cool whip.
- Save some toppings. Set aside a handful of chopped apples and Snickers before mixing everything together. Scatter them over the finished salad and drizzle with caramel sauce for a pretty finishing touch.
- Add chopped peanuts to the assembled salad.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to peel the apples? Nope! Just wash, core, and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Leaving the skins on keeps things simple, but you can peel the apples if that’s what you prefer.
Can I use cook-and-serve pudding instead of instant pudding? Stick with instant vanilla pudding for this recipe. Cook-and-serve pudding needs to be cooked to thicken, so it won’t work with the simple mix-and-fold instructions used here. Double-check the box before getting started!
How to Store & Reheat
How to store it? Store leftover Apple Snickers Salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for one day. It’s best enjoyed the day you make it, while the apples are crunchy and the homemade whipped cream mixture is fluffy. As it sits, the apples may soften and the creamy mixture may thin out.
How to freeze it? I don’t recommend freezing this salad. The apples lose their crisp texture after thawing, and the whipped cream mixture can become watery or separate. Stick with refrigerating leftovers and enjoying them while they’re fresh.

Apple Snickers Salad
Ingredients
- 3 large Granny Smith apples
- 4-5 1.86 ounce Snickers candy bars
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3.4 ounce package instant vanilla pudding
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
-
On a cutting board, cut the Snickers in half length-wise, then into small pieces.
-
Wash and core apples. Cut into bite-sized pieces and put into a large bowl. Pour the lemon juice over the apples and stir.
-
Add the cut up Snickers to the apples. You can reserve some apples and snickers to the side for topping the salad once it’s assembled.
-
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the pudding with the milk.
-
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, pour in the heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Whisk over high speed until stiff peaks form, about 8-10 minutes.
-
Very gently fold about ⅓ of the pudding mixture at a time into the whipped cream until fully combined.
-
Add the whipped cream mixture to the apples. Top with reserved apples and Snicker pieces.
-
Serve salad immediately. The salad is best eaten on the day it is made.
Recipe Notes
- If you would like the salad to have more longevity, remove the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanillla and replace it with cool whip.
- Save some toppings. Set aside a handful of chopped apples and Snickers before mixing everything together. Scatter them over the finished salad and drizzle with caramel sauce for a pretty finishing touch.
- Add chopped peanuts to the assembled salad.
- Leftover salad will last for 1 day in an airtight container in the fridge.
