Looking for a shot that is adorable as well as tasty? Look no further that the white gummy bear shot! Having fruity flavors like raspberry, peach and lemon lime makes them great party drinks or anytime you are wanting a fun shot recipe.
Ok, this white gummy bear shot recipe is probably the cutest shot we’ve made thus far. Just kidding that spot will forever be held by this drink, our Baby Yoda Cocktail. Yes, it looks just like Grogu, go check it out!
But, you have to admit those little bears are pretty cute and this drink tastes good, too. It’s a must try if you are a fan of gummy candy.
If you aren’t the biggest fan of gummy bears, you can always use gummy worms instead.
White Gummy Bear Shots
This easy shot recipe gets a double punch of lemon lime flavor from soda AND from sweet and sour mix. For the soda, feel free to use your favorite brand like sprite, 7up, or the store brand. If you don’t already have a bottle of sweet & sour or just want to make your own, I have included directions in this post of how to make your own mix.
I like to decorate my glass with a white gummy bear garnish, but any color would be cute on there. You can put the gummy bear on a skewer, cut a small slit in the bottom to slide it onto the edge of your glass or just drop it right in the liquid.
Try this gummy bear drink, it will make you feel like a kid again, well the gummy bear part not the drinking part.
Why is it called a White Gummy Bear Shot?
Besides the fact that this shot is obviously served with a garnish of gummy bears, it is called a gummy bear shot because it is full of fruity flavor just like that classic candy. And it is clear or “white” like a white gummy bear. So, it’s fruity but not pineapple flavored (unless you want it to be).
What is a Gummy Bear Shot Made of?
You only need four ingredients to make this shot, well, five technically if you are counting the side of gummy bears. The other ingredients are four liquids, raspberry flavored vodka, peach pucker, splash of lemon-lime soda, and sweet and sour.
What Kind of Vodka to Use?
In this vodka shot recipe we are using raspberry flavored vodka. If you have a favorite brand that you typically reach for, go for it. Here are some that we like:
- Absolute Raspberri – has a light raspberry flavor. Isn’t too bad if you like taking shots of straight vodka.
- Ciroc Red Berry – This one is only made with grapes so it is great if you are looking for a sweeter vodka
- Smirnoff Raspberry – has a stronger raspberry flavor and is usually a great price for what you get.
It can be difficult to find ways to use up your raspberry vodka. I find that it pairs well in most fruity drinks and can be substituted in to fruity recipes calling for just plain vodka. It’s also great when mixed into lemonade or coffee.
Or just buy the small bottles instead. The 50 ml bottle has only one shot in it while the 375 ml bottle has about 8 shots.
What does a Gummy Bear Shot Taste like?
This popular sweet shot has a great fruity blend thanks to the peach, raspberry, lemon and lime flavors that go into it. The soda gives it a nice fizzy feeling as you drink it.
This version doesn’t exactly have a white gummy bear flavor (which would be pineapple). But, you can add a splash of pineapple juice in place of the sweet and sour. Then it will taste more like a white gummy bear.
It is definitely popular with people who prefer a sweeter shot. Just keep in mind that this one can sneak up on you since it tastes so good!

Gummy Bear Shot Ingredients
Here are the simple ingredients to make this shot. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full ingredient amounts.
- Raspberry Vodka: Gives a slight raspberry flavor. Use your favorite vodka brand.
- Peach Schnapps: Gives a light peachy flavor.
- Lemon Lime Soda: Use your favorite brand of lemon lime soda, you could also use a citrus soda like Squirt.
- Sweet and Sour Mix: Use store-bought or make your own with the recipe below.
- White Gummy Bears: You will need at least one for each shot, but I sometimes serve mine with a bowl of different colored gummy bears just for fun.
How to Make White Gummy Bear Shot
- Make the gummy bear garnish by sticking one gummy bear onto a cocktail pick. Make one for every shot.
- Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Pour raspberry vodka, peach schnapps, sour mix, and lemon lime soda into the shaker.
- Shake for at least 10 seconds.
- Pour into two shot glasses.
- Add the gummy bear cocktail stick or just drop in a gummy bear to the shot glass.
Make it a White Gummy Bear Drink
A fun way to enjoy this shot is to turn it into a white gummy bear martini. Use these amounts.
- 1 1/2 ounces raspberry vodka
- 1 ounce peach schnapps
- 1/2 ounce sweet and sour
- 1/2 ounce lemon lime soda
Make it the same way you would make the shot, just pour it into a martini glass or cocktail glass and serve with gummy bear garnish.
Recipe Tips
- Homemade sweet and sour mix. Make your own sweet and sour mix rather than buying it at the grocery store.
- Gummy Worm Shot. Serve with gummy worms instead.
- Sugar rim. Dip each shot glass, mixing glass, or martini glasses into a small plate of sugar to have a sugared rim.
- Add a little simple syrup. If the drink is not sweet enough you could add a splash of simple syrup to the rest of the ingredients in the shaker.
- Switch up the alcohol. Switch the raspberry vodka for raspberry schnapps and peach schnapps for peach vodka instead.
- Pineapple flavor. Use pineapple juice instead of the sweet and sour mixture.
- Shot cups. If you use shot cups instead then the cleanup is much easier because you can just throw them away.
How to Make Sweet and Sour Mix
Using store bought sweet and sour drink mix is a great way to go and what I normally use in cocktails. But, if you would like to make the homemade version, here is a great recipe. If you microwave your lemons and limes for about ten seconds and then roll on the counter with your hand, you will get much more juice.
This sweet and sour mix recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups.
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- In a medium pot, add in water and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Next, add in the fresh lemon and lime juice. Let it cool before using.
- The prepared sweet and sour mix will last in the fridge for about a week.
Gummy Bear Shot Variations
You know what is more fun than making the white gummy bear? Trying it out with different alcohols to make any flavor you want. It’s fun to experiment with ways you can make variations of the same drink to make any color gummy bear shot! You can make a collection of gummy bear cocktails. Each one makes about 2 shots.
- Red Gummy Bear Shot: To make a red gummy bear shot, switch out the raspberry vodka for cherry vodka. Use 1 ounce of cherry vodka, 1 ounce of peach schnapps, splash of pineapple juice (1/2 ounce) and a splash of lemon lime soda (1/2 ounce). If your vodka is not red, add in 1/4 ounce of grenadine or 1/4 ounce of cranberry juice for color.
- Blue Gummy Bear Shot: Easily make this a blue gummy shot. Use 1 1/2 oz raspberry vodka, 1/2 oz peach schnapps, 1 oz blue curaçao.
- Pink Gummy Bear Shot: 1 1/2 oz raspberry vodka, 1/2 ounce peach schnapps, 1/2 ounce watermelon schnapps.
- Green Gummy Bear Shot: 1 1/2 oz vodka, 1 oz melon liqueur, 1/2 oz lemon lime soda.
How to Make Vodka Gummy Bears
If you have a bunch of leftover gummy bears from Halloween, you can make them into boozy bears (gummy bears with an adult twist). Put the gummy bears in a bowl and pour in enough vodka to cover the gummies. Let them soak overnight at room temperature. The bears will get a little bigger and won’t be the prettiest. They are best eaten with a fork or spoon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the white gummy bear shot a strong drink? Like most vodka shots, it is a stronger drink. It will depend on which alcohol you use. It will be around 15-20 percent ABV or 30-40 proof.
Do I need a cocktail shaker to make the gummy bear shot? Ok, so I only recently got a cocktail shaker before that I would use a fake cocktail shaker, lol. So yes you do need some sort of cocktail shaker even if it’s not a real one. You can even use jelly jar with a lid.
How many shots does this recipe make? This will make 2 shots, so if you only want one shot just cut the recipe in half.

It feels like one is drinking a liquid gummy bear. That must be true because I see a white gummy bear. Wait, is this the alcohol talking? Fun!
