Caprese Salad Skewers with juicy tomatoes, crisp basil, and creamy mozzarella are rich with bold flavors and so easy to make. Top caprese skewers with a good-quality, buttery extra-virgin olive oil, thick balsamic glaze, salt, and freshly ground pepper.

These caprese skewers would be a perfect appetizer served at your next holiday get together. The red and green colors match pretty perfectly with your holiday decor. Make these for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or really any time of the year. Or try your hand at making these scrumptious Pretzel Bites served with gooey Beer Cheese Dip!

Easiest and Tastiest Appetizer

Are you looking for the easiest, tastiest appetizer ever? Well, you have come to the right place! These caprese salad skewers are the easiest appetizers to put together. This is the perfect appetizer to make with kids, it’s easy for their little hands and fun, too!

Simply take a toothpick, poke through a tomato, basil leaf, then mozzarella ball. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Take the flavor a step further by drizzling on balsamic glaze. I love that this is a bite-sized version of a caprese salad. So cute!

This is one of my go-to appetizers, especially when I’m short on time.

Traditional caprese salads in Italy are only topped with salt, pepper, and a really good extra-virgin olive oil. They don’t include balsamic glaze as a topping. I love balsamic vinegar and I like the glaze on my caprese, it adds an extra layer of delicious, in-depth flavor.

Tomatoes, Basil, and Fresh Mozzarella

For the best flavor, I typically like to make this caprese salad recipe when tomatoes are in-season, which is the start of May till the end of September. I usually get mine (I used small cherry tomatoes) at my local farmer’s market. They always have tastiest, beautiful, bright red tomatoes!

But sometimes, you don’t have the option of getting them at your farmer’s market and you have to settle for grocery store tomatoes because it’s November and you still desperately want to make these caprese skewers. I can still find pretty yummy tomatoes, even in the winter!

I love that this is a bite-sized version of a caprese salad. So cute!

I can’t think of a combination of flavors that is better than tomatoes and basil. Then you add in the fresh mozzarella, olive oil, and balsamic glaze. SO GOOD!! The flavors come alive in your mouth. And just look at them, aren’t they pretty…

Caprese Salad Skewers Tips

  • Use store-bought balsamic glaze/reduction instead of using making your own to save time.
  • Use a good quality Extra-Virgin Olive Oil that’s cold-pressed. Since this is going to be drizzled right on the food, you will really be able to taste the olive oil flavor.
  • This recipe makes about 12 skewers, but you can easily make more.

Storage Instructions for Caprese Skewers

How to Refrigerate Caprese Salad Skewers: Store them in a glass container or BPA-free airtight plastic container or zipper bag. The skewers should last about 4-5 days in the fridge.
