Who Is Baby Yoda?
I don’t know about you, but Baby Yoda is my absolute favorite!! I was obsessed with the little guy the moment I laid eyes on him on The Mandalorian. I just really want a little Baby Yoda to float around in a pod with me everywhere I go.
Baby Yoda is the STAR of The Mandalorian, along side Mando. It’s a show that is a spin off from Star Wars. I’m not going to give anything away. Go watch it you must.
I know, I know…his name isn’t actually Baby Yoda, but he just looks like Yoda would as a baby. In the show he is called “The Child,” but later we find out his name is Grogu.
After season 2 of The Mandalorian ended (insert sad face emoji here), I just knew I needed to create this Yoda Cocktail.
The Perfect Yoda Drink for May the Fourth
The cool thing about this drink is that you can customize it. If there is another green alcoholic cocktail you like better (like a Baby Yoda Margarita) you can substitute it in and still dress it up like Baby Yoda.
Make it a mocktail (a cocktail without alcohol in it) if you want to make it for kiddos or if you don’t drink alcohol. You could use any green drink like virgin margarita mix or green kool-aid. My kids really like it when I make it a kiwi drink or Yoda juice. I add a little kiwi juice to the simple syrup (kiwi simple syrup) and pour in a little club soda or Sprite.
This would be the perfect Star Wars cocktail for May the Fourth, St. Patrick’s Day, serve it at your New Year’s get together, or pretty much anytime of the year (as long as you can find kiwis). If you love martinis try this red velvet martini.
How to Assemble the CUTEST Kiwi Martini
It’s easy to create the cutest Yoda drink around!
Create the Baby Yoda accessories first. Cut a kiwi in half lengthwise. With a sharp paring knife, peel the furry brown skin off of one half of the kiwi and cut it in half again lengthwise. These are his ears. Place two olives on a long toothpick or cocktail pick. Cut out a small rectangle from a brown paper lunch bag for his cute little outfit.
Easily make a simple syrup with the recipe below (super simple) or buy it. Put kiwis in a metal shaker with simple syrup OR a large glass (or a metal Yeti tumbler, guilty as charged) because you don’t have an actual shaker. Smash kiwi with a muddler OR use a wooden spoon because you don’t have a muddler either, HA!
Add in a bunch of ice and pour in vodka. Put the lid on your metal shaker (or Yeti tumbler, cover the hole) and shake it all about. Strain into a coupe glass. Top with kiwi ears, olive eyes, and wrap his outfit around the stem of glass, securing with a piece of tape.
That’s it! Mere minutes to cuteness overload. And this drink isn’t JUST cute, it also really tastes good. You can even just make kiwi martinis without the cute Yoda accessories.
Simple Syrup Ingredients
- Sugar: Granulated sugar.
- Water: Filtered water.
How to Make Simple Syrup

- Bring to a boil. Stirring until all of the sugar is dissolved. Let it cool completely before using.
Star Wars Cocktail Ingredients
Here are the basic ingredients to make this delicious drink recipe. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full ingredient amounts.
- Kiwi: You will need one whole kiwi for the drink and half a kiwi for his ears.
- Simple Syrup: It’s very easy to make your own (instructions below) or use store bought.
- Vodka: We like Grey Goose, but use whatever you like.
- Olives: Black olives. You will need two black olives needed for each drink for Baby Yoda’s eyes. These look the most like his eyes to me, but you could switch them up for blueberries if you like.
How to Make Yoda Cocktail
STEP 1: Create the Baby Yoda outfit, instructions are above or in recipe card.
STEP 2: Cut a kiwi in half and use a spoon to scoop out the insides from the skin. You will need one whole kiwi per drink.
STEP 3: Put the kiwi in a metal cup with simple syrup.
STEP 4: Muddle the kiwi with the syrup.
STEP 5: Add in ice to about 3/4th of the way full. Pour in vodka.
STEP 6: Shake it for at least 10 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass (it’s like a rounded martini glass).
STEP 7: Top with the ears on either side of the rim of the glass. Rest the stick of olives across the front. Wrap the rectangle of brown paper bag around the glass stem and secure with tape.
Baby Yoda Cocktail Tips & Tricks
- Use a cut lime for the ears instead of using kiwi.
- Store simple syrup in an airtight container for up to a month in the fridge.
- You could use brown burlap for the outfit instead of brown paper bag.
- I folded down the top of the brown bag to create a little collar.
- To secure the paper bag outfit, fold a small piece of tape sticky side out into a loop, re-sticking it to itself. This creates a piece of two-sided tape (or just use two sided tape). Place inside the jacket towards the top to keep the “jacket” closed.

jeff
simple syrup should be made at 2 cups sugar / 1 cup water to make it shelf stable not 1/1 other than that great stuff!
Tristin
Jeff, thanks so much for the great tip!
Katia
This could not be more adorable!! Wow! Thanks for sharing. But I’ll have to make a non alcoholic version for the kiddos or they’ll be envious…=)
Tristin
Awww, thanks so much, Katia. I also have to make my kids the virgin version lol, when I make these!
Trish
Please figure out how to make a pitcher of this so I can make it for a group!! I can’t do math, so I really need your help!
Tristin
Easy peasy girl! All you need to do is scroll to the recipe card and hover over “servings” (it’s a blue 1 right now). It will give you a sliding scale so you can adjust the amounts to how ever many servings you would like to make. You don’t need to make a huge amount of the simple syrup because you only need 1 teaspoon per serving. Let me know if you need more help, Trish.
Julie
I would use blueberries rather than black olives to keep the flavor profile on the sweeter side. To make a more savory one, use the olives with a cucumber muddled syrup, but maybe do a 4:1 syrup so it’s not too sweet and add some lemon to it to balance.
