- 8 ounce ham steak plain or hickory smoked
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Preheat the air fryer to 370°F for 4 minutes.
In a microwavable small bowl, melt the butter (30 seconds, then 15 seconds). Add in the mustard, brown sugar, pepper, and paprika. Mix together the glaze well.
Place the ham into the air fryer basket and cook for 4 minutes.
Open air fryer and flip the ham steak over. Baste on a layer of glaze. Cook for 4 more minutes.
Open air fryer and flip the steak over again, basting the other side. Cook for an additional 4 minutes.
Serve immediately along with any leftover sauce.
- Single layer. It is best to cook one ham steak in one layer at a time so that it will cook evenly.
- Basket style air fryer. The air fryer model I have is the basket-style air fryer. It is perfect for cooking a thick ham.
- No cooking spray. I don't recommend using cooking spray in your air fryer because it can cause the coating to break down.
- Leftover ham will last 3-4 days in an air tight container in the fridge.
