Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa unsweetened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter soft or melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line an 8x8-inch pan with a parchment sling or grease with butter. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, salt, butter, and eggs. Once mixed, stir in most of the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the top with the rest of the chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 25-28 minutes, until the brownies slightly pull from the edge of the pan and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just some moist crumbs. Allow them to cool for 30 minutes before cutting.

Notes

  • Mix in 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the brownie batter.
  • Add in other flavors of chips like white chocolate chips or special dark chocolate.
  • Use 1/4 cup of oil instead of butter.
  • Let the brownies cool and put in an airtight container. They should last about 3-4 days at room temperature.
