Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9" x 5" loaf pan with parchment paper or cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and flour.
Add in buttermilk, butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir until combined.
In a separate small bowl, toss to coat the cranberries in 1 tablespoon of flour.
Add the cranberries and the orange zest into the batter and combine.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 60 minutes or until the bread is brown on top and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean, with only a few crumbs.
Make the glaze by stirring together the fresh squeezed orange juice and the powdered sugar. Start with one tablespoon and add more based on the consistency you desire. Once the bread is completely cooled, top with the glaze.
