- 1-2 teaspoons butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream or whole milk
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon fresh herbs basil, thyme, cilantro - chopped plus more for garnish
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheese
Butter a 6-inch non-stick baking dish or cake pan. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, add eggs and cream. Whisk vigorously for about 30 seconds until eggs are frothy.
Stir in the salt, pepper, and thyme.
Pour egg mixture into the buttered baking dish.
Carefully place the pan into the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 350°F and cook for 4-5 minutes.
Add the cheese (or other cooked toppings) and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Remove the pan from the air fryer and flip the omelet onto a plate. Fold the omelet in half and add a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired.
- Choose the right baking pan: Make sure that your baking dish is the right size. If you use a small pan, your omelet may not cook evenly or all the way through.
- Line the pan well: Eggs are notorious for clinging to the side of the baking dish, which can be messy to remove. Butter the baking dish well to simplify clean-up.
