- 20 Oreo cookies not double stuffed
- 5 tablespoons Nutella Hazelnut Spread
- 8 ounces chocolate candy coating
- heart sprinkles optional
Add Oreos and Nutella into the food processor.
Combine until smooth and it starts forming a ball.
Chill the truffle dough for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
Form dough into 1 tablespoon sized balls, rolling between your hands.
Place the truffle balls onto a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment or wax paper.
Refrigerate for at least one hour.
Melt the almond bark according to the package instructions. My instructions said to heat for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between each heating cycle.
Dip a truffle in the melted chocolate, I used a fork. Tap off any excess chocolate.
Place back onto the baking sheet and top immediately with sprinkles (if you let it set too long, the chocolate will harden and you won't be able to add sprinkles).
Chill according to the package directions on the melting chocolate (mine said 2-5 minutes).
Enjoy!
- Make sure to refrigerate the truffles after forming them, this step is crucial. If they are warm they will break off into your melting chocolate.
- Use a tablespoon sized cookie dough scoop or a melon baller to make each ball the same size.
- Top the truffles that have been coated in the melted chocolate with sprinkles immediately because if they harden you will be unable to add the sprinkles.
- Truffles will last about 5 day in the fridge or at room temperature.
