Crock Pot Creamy Sausage and Potatoes

Crock Pot Sausage and Potatoes make a delicious dinner that brings together smokey turkey sausage and golden potatoes all mixed in a sauce that is creamy and full of flavor. This is comfort food at its finest.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs gold potatoes quartered
  • 1 lb smoked turkey sausage slice 1/2" thick
  • 8 ounce cream cheese bar softened
  • 1 10.5 ounce cream of celery condensed soup
  • 1 ounce packet of dry ranch dressing mix

Instructions

  • Add cut up potatoes and sliced sausage into the slow cooker.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a bowl using a hand held mixer, combine together the softened cream cheese, soup, and dry ranch.
  • Pour on top of the sausage and potatoes in the center, but don't stir.
  • Set crock pot to low heat and cook for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours until potatoes are fork tender. Mix halfway through if you are home.
  • Let cool a little before serving.

Notes

  • Potatoes. I use gold potatoes (Yukon gold) in this dinner recipe, but you can use baby potatoes, red potatoes or russet potatoes. Baby potatoes can be quartered, but bigger than that should be sliced into thirds and those should be quartered.
  • Soften cream cheese. Make sure the cream cheese is soft so that it easily mixes with the soup and dry ranch dressing.
  • Use a different flavored soup. Try a twist on the recipe by using cream of chicken soup, cream of broccoli, or cream of mushroom instead of using cream of celery soup.
  • More sausage. Add a second link of sausage (so 2 lbs instead of 1) if you want an even meatier recipe.
  • Make it cheesy. Add some freshly shredded cheese into the pot right before serving.
  • Add veggies. You can add fresh green beans about 2 hours before the dish is done or they may overcook or canned green beans 30 minutes before done cooking.
  • Make it spicy. If you like things spicy try adding in a little cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • Crock pot creamy sausage and potatoes will last 3-5 days in an airtight container in the fridge.
