Ingredients

For Simple Syrup

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

For Kiwi Cocktail

  • 2 kiwi fruit ripe
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 ounce vodka
  • 2 black olives for garnish

Instructions

To Make Simple Syrup

  • Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stirring until all of the sugar is dissolved. Let it cool completely before using.

To Make Kiwi Cocktail

  • While simple syrup is cooling, create the Baby Yoda accessories. Cut a kiwi in half lengthwise. With a sharp paring knife, peel the furry brown skin off of one half of the kiwi and cut it in half again lengthwise. These are his ears. Place two olives on a long toothpick or cocktail pick. Cut out a small rectangle from a brown paper lunch bag for his cute little outfit. Set these aside to make cocktail.
  • Cut a kiwi in half and use a spoon to scoop out the insides from the skin.
  • Put the kiwi in a metal cup with the simple syrup. Muddle the kiwi with the syrup.
  • Add in ice to about 3/4th of the way full.  Pour in the vodka. Shake it for at least 10 seconds.  Strain into a coupe glass (it's like a rounded martini glass).
  • Top with the ears on either side of the rim of the glass.  Rest the stick of olives across the front. Wrap the rectangle of brown paper bag around the glass stem and secure with tape.

Notes

  • Use a cut lime for the ears instead of using kiwi.
  • Store simple syrup in an airtight container for up to a month in the fridge.
  • To secure the paper bag outfit, fold a small piece of tape sticky side out into a loop, re-sticking it to itself.  This creates a piece of two-sided tape (or just use two sided tape).  Place inside the jacket towards the top to keep the "jacket" closed.
